The Board reviewed the three-month Financial Report ending in April 2023 presented by Kellen Shaw, Director of Finance. Projects will be determined by the Township's Environmental Services and include past projects such as: The Township’s Recycle Right Program, recycling equipment and supplies for use in parks and at events, and various ads and publications. ![]() The Township’s contract with Waste Management for waste collection and recycling services includes an educational component that provides for a defined amount for environmental education programs, services and projects equal to 1% of the amount spent on all solid waste services in the previous calendar year. Waste Management presented the board with a check in the amount of $75,194.71 to enhance environmental education. The report also revealed an astonishing 93% of The Woodlands residents recycle, proving that our community is exceptionally environmentally focused. According to these numbers, each household produces approximately over a ton of solid waste per year. Last year, Waste Management collected over 30,860 solid waste tons. ![]() ![]() In 2022, Waste Management provided curbside waste, recycling, bulk and green waste collection to 35,661 homes each week and performs over 5 million personal touches per year. On the Regular Agenda, the board reviewed a presentation that highlighted 2022/2023 Waste Management services and trends in the community.
